Note from Seller:

The barns on the property were built in approximately 1908 when farming and cattle ranching replaced mining.  The first barn to the left of the driveway was a granary, with multiple small rooms with ladders and pulleys to access samples of various kinds of grain.  The root cellar next to this barn was abandoned when the roof caved in.  It was used to store potatoes which was the main crop at the time. When we bought the property, we restored it as it was with a sod roof because most root cellars had been plowed under in the Roaring Fork Valley.  It is a great storage space with a constant cool temperature. The exercise building used to be a bunk house for cowboys until the 1950’s. The carpenter who renovated it for us (in his 60’s at the time) had slept there with five other cowboys when he was 18! They moved cattle over more than 500 acres. The barn near the house has stalls that were used for milking cows. Although the house was built in 1989, the property has a rich and interesting history. Lastly, the pond has about 300 rainbow trout in it – we hooked a four pounder!
