Once the setting for a dude ranch, numerous movies, and commercials,Teton Valley Ranch is the embodiment of the spirit of the Old West and
truly represents one of the most unique and extraordinary properties in
all of Teton County, Wyoming! Founded in 1927 as a cattle ranch and
located just twelve miles north of the town of Jackson near the quaint,
charming community of Kelly, the ranch offers all-encompassing views of
the 44 mile-long Teton Mountain Range. Legacy ranches of this caliber
rarely make it to the open market as they are usually protected and
passed on for generations.
Located in the center of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, the
largest intact ecosystem in the continental United States, Teton Valley
Ranch is surrounded by Grand Teton National Park and the National Elk
Refuge and consists of two separately deeded parcels, totaling
approximately 102 acres. The ranch has over one mile of private fishing
access and miles of additional access from adjacent public lands to the
Gros Ventre River, a significant tributary to the fabled Snake River.
Home to the Snake River Finespot Cutthroat trout, the river and its
surroundings are also frequented by large mammals such as moose, elk
and American bison, and are also home to several bird species including
osprey, bald eagle and trumpeter swan. Teton Valley Ranch is truly a
park within a park, yet a mere 15 minutes from the Jackson Hole
Airport.
A warm-springs lake which maintains a year round temperature of 68
degrees and borders the west side of the distinquished residence
tumbles over a small waterfall and forms a beautiful spring creek which
flows to the Gros Ventre River. Stream enhancement specialists have
stated that the mineral make-up of the spring creek will, when
supplemented by the cooler water from the Gros Ventre River (through
existing water rights) create a healthy combination of mineral
concentration and water temperature, resulting in habitat similar to
the famed Armstrong and DePuy spring creeks of Montana. A diversion to
provide this water has already been designed and approved. In addition,
a two-acre lake is present on the property, as well as several historic
buildings including the iconic “Marlboro Barn” which has
been featured over the years in several commercials and western movies.
Improvements: The owner has carefully placed the new stone and
beam 10,000 square foot home alongside the warm springs lake with
perfect orientation to capture the full grandeur of the Tetons from
almost every room in the home. Designed and built by architects from
Germany the architecture is reminiscent of European hunting lodges of
days-gone-by. One-of-a-kind antique design elements from Europe include
reclaimed timbers and floors, stained glass windows, sandstone columns,
castle doors and balusters and tiles from the 1700s and 1800s.
Additional amenities include 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, top-of-the-line
appliances and a 3 car garage with caretaker’s quarters above. A
recently refurbished 3 bedroom log guest home tucked into the hillside
is accessed by private drive or by footbridge across the warm springs
lake. The property has been approved for an additional guest home.
The ranch is being offered in its entirety for $43,900,000 or can be purchased in two separate parcels. Call for details
