Born in Newnan, 1949, Chip graduated from Newnan High School in 1967. He later graduated from Emory University with a degree in History in 1971, and Mercer University with a J.D. Degree in 1974.

Chip is Associate Broker, Vice President and Co-Owner of Lindsey's Inc.,was first licensed as an agent in 1968, and has been a full time broker since 1978, and is a member of the Georgia Bar since 1974. Chip was 1991's Realtor of the year and he is a member of the Executive Comittee and Board of Directors of Georgia MLS. He has four times been the Chairman of Deacons of the First Baptist Church, is a past Chairman of the the Board of Newnan Hospital , is a past Chairman of the Board Of The Newnan-Coweta Chamber Of Commerce, as well as the United Way, and is a Past President of the Newnan Kiwanis Club. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Directors of BBT, and Chip, also, three times served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Mercer University and is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club, and received the Crystal Phoenix Award. Chip and his wife Margaret have three children and five grandchildren.

Chip currently resides in Newnan with his wife Margaret, and his family.
