PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT MARILYN

From the late 1970´s, Marilyn´s family lived in various condominiums on the waterfront in Palm Beach and in a gated golfing community.  Marilyn often visited Palm Beach County, becoming well acquainted with the various lifestyles and local amenities, and making many friends.

Receiving her Florida real estate license in 2000, Marilyn has sold many properties in the Palm Beach County area including waterfront, gated golf, and non-equity country club communities as a multi-million dollar producing agent for Lang Realty, a boutique real estate company catering to listing and selling luxury properties (who will do about a half billion dollars of sales in 2005).

A founding member of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, she is listed as a Luxury Specialist in the Wall Street Journal and Barrons.  Marilyn presents her properties on the MLS, in  many full page, full-color magazine ads, and uses direct mail to various communities.  Being very internet savvy, when she lists a property she emails over 3500 local agents and many nationwide luxury sales agents with photos and details.  All of these methods have resulted in sales.

Ms. Jacobs has over 25 years of consulting, managerial, and research experience. She is a Management Consultant, Certified in Internet Technologies (NYU).  She continually does internet research on real estate offerings and issues, and has done web site auditing and design. Her current website, www.MarilynJacobs.com, is "a labor of love."  She is also webmistress of her community blog.

Marilyn has previous working experience at IBM, Texaco, Coopers and Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers), and Lehman Brothers. She has received finders fees from a patent owner, was Registrar for a school, designed a web page for a furniture wholesaler and has handled publicity and public relations, and written newsletters. She raised funds for the Children's Service League of Westchester, Boston University and the New Rochelle Opera Company (former Board Member).  She owned and managed a secretarial service in New Rochelle, NY.

During the 1990´s, Ms. Jacobs lived in New York (Manhattan and New Rochelle), and, from 1998 to 2001, at PGA National, and was a golf member at Ballen Isles in Palm Beach Gardens.  The Polo Club in Boca Raton where she currently resides, became her permanent residence in 2001.

Recently she judged the 2004 - 7th Annual Marilyn Farber Jacobs Poetry Contest, sponsored by the Poetry Protocol Syndicate, a division of the North Tulsa Literary Guild, of which she is a lifetime member. Her poems and bio have been published internationally. The Amateur Poetry Journal published her haiku poems online. A short story she wrote, "Just One American Beauty Rose," has been published in a book and featured in many online e-zines.

As Cover Page Reporter for the upscale Spotlight Newsletter which is sent 6 times a year to 11 gated golfing communities in northern Palm Beach County, Marilyn began writing feature articles on local facilities and interviewed local personalities, when she lived in Palm Beach Gardens, and occasionally still writes for Spotlight. Other interests include collecting antique watches, furniture and accessories; volunteer charity work (she is a Past-President of the Children's Service League of Westchester, Inc. and has been a volunteer Publicity and Public Relations Chairperson for The Center for Lifetime Learning at Palm Beach Community College in Lake Worth); reading; digital photography; "surfing the internet"; and travel.
